Washington-Ireland Program Alumni Network

About Us

WIPAN is the Washington-Ireland Program Alumni Network. Begun in 1999 and formally established in 2001, it worked for six years to connect the graduates of WIP, the Washington-Ireland Program and also serve as a link between these graduates and the program. Then, it disbanded as a formal body, and worked in more informal ways

WIPAN 12-A New Story is the name we are giving to a new and vibrant alum community that is in the process of being reborn here. WIPAN aims to support the work of the Washington-Ireland Program and promote the ideals of public service and leadership in positive and practical ways on the island of Ireland. Because of the increasing power of social networks and the enhanced technology now available, we feel its time to move WIPAN up a notch from a Facebook/Linked In Contact site.

The WIPAN Committee no longer functions and some have suggested that a formal structure is not necessary. However, there does need to be a leadership team to help drive this initiative. So any alums out there who find this and want to be involved, please get in touch through the info@wipan.org email. The old Executive Committee used to be elected each September at the AGM and was made up of nine positions, including the Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, PRO, Web Development Officer and three Regional Alumni Officers.

Alumni Classes features all the graduates of the Washington-Ireland Program from 1995 to 2006. The classes of 2007-2011 are not here yet but you can see them on the main WIP site.
